Message from the Principal

Welcome to our website. I feel very privileged to be the Principal of Glendal Primary and find our school to be a very happy and stimulating learning environment within a warm and supportive school community.

The teachers and support staff are professional, energetic, enthusiastic, and dedicated to the children of Glendal. The families impress me with their willingness to give their time and positive energy to the school.

Our values of optimism, respect, persistence, co-operation and tolerance are based around the development of positive relationships between everyone in our school community.  We believe in involving parents in the education of their children and in providing a high quality engaging learning environment.

I have a strong belief in the value of public education and in doing whatever we can to ensure that each child has the opportunity to succeed to the very best of their ability. My own experience in education and leadership is very broad and includes teaching at primary, secondary and tertiary levels and in 3 continents (South America, UK and Australia) in both private and government schools. Having studied education for many years, and recently visited schools overseas, I believe that the standard of education in Victoria is very high. Here at Glendal Primary the level of student achievement is amongst the highest in the State.

We provide learning opportunities that are fun and enganging so that our students are happy, well balanced and enjoy coming to school.

We are always delighted to welcome new families to our school and conduct school tours each Tuesday morning, at 9.30am from the school office at the Nottingham Street entrance.

Parents are always welcome in our community room or Mi Cafe for a cup of tea or coffee and a chat in the mornings.

Glendal Primary School is well known for its high standard of teaching and student wellbeing programs which foster a spirit of inquiry and a love of learning. We aim to prepare our students so that they thrive within a global community in the challenging, complex 21st-century world.

You will discover a curriculum which has a strong emphasis on literacy and numeracy with structures and practices that promote successful individualised learning outcomes for students.  The curriculum offered also provides opportunities for all children to extend their interests and talents promoting social, intellectual and emotional growth in addition to sporting, musical, scientific, artistic, outdoor educational and other areas of interest. 

It is our aim to extend knowledge, challenge thinking, provide choice and opportunity and ignite passions. Excellent information technology facilities support the curriculum and students have access to a superb range of extra curricular activities. Our outstanding new building facilities provide our school community with a stimulating and inspiring learning environment.
